Mewtwo's Secret Life ch.4:

It all seemed like a dream for the Moonlight Shadows. One minute, the band had no potential of being good or even getting a head start but with Mewtwo arriving on the scene, it seemed like everything changed and now they were on their way to stardom. The next morning, Mewtwo woke up to discover his family around the tv.

"What is going on?" he asked.

"Look!" said Hikari.

"Today's entertainment news, the whole city is reflecting this morning on the performances given by more than 10 bands last night but only one stood out. The band known as the Moonlight Shadows stole their show with their song Watch Out. The other fascination was their lead singer identified as Mewtwo, who is also rumored to be the mysterious hero that stopped crime in the city. The appearence of the Moonlight Shadows comes a week after the city's hero suddenly vanished. Could the two be connected? More on the investigation tonight" said the newscaster. That was when Harumi turned off the tv.

"I knew this was going to blow them away!" yelled Harumi.

"And its all thanks to Mewtwo" said Hikari.

"All I did was sing, you two along with Miki played the instruments so you three at least deserved some credit" said Mewtwo. Later that day, the band met up at the nightclub. In order to be a little riscey, they all decided to transform into the Moonlight Shadow appereal.

"I can't believe that nobody had recognize us in here" said Miki.

"Probably because the lights are on the dancefloor, not the tables" said Hikari. Mewtwo just stared at Miki the whole time, he just admired her. She was the sweetest girl he had ever known since Hikari. Plus, she had good wits and she didn't judge him about anything. All of a sudden a voice broke his attention span.

"Mewtwo? Is that you?" asked the young woman. She was a 15 year old with red-orange hair and light brown eyes. She had her hair in double braids.

"Maiko?" Mewtwo suddenly muttered.

"Hey, you not only look gay but you sound gay as well. I bet that's why we split" joked Maiko.

"I am straight! Its not by fault that..." Mewtwo said when someone interrupted him.

"That a significant cur like Makato can take over you" said Keiko as she appeared on Maiko's shoulder. The band then gasped at seeing the appereance of another reincarnaition.

"You.. you also.." studdered Hikari.

"Yup. And by finding Makato, I found you" said Maiko.

"Well, what a coincidence" said Mewtwo. Miki just sat down silently. Harumi notices and calmy whispered to her.

"What's wrong?" asked Harumi.

"I am sensing that she is up to no good again" said Miki.

"Huh?" asked Harumi, puzzled by Miki's words.

"Mind if I sit with you guys?" asked Maiko.

"No, not at all" said Mewtwo. As she sat with them, Maiko turns to Miki.

"Well Miki, long time no see. Still, trying to be Miss Wanabee as usual?" asked Maiko.

"Why you...!" yelled Miki as she tried to lunge towards Maiko but the girls held her back.

"How do you know Miki Maiko?" asked Harumi.

"She was my friend at the performing arts academy" said Maiko, staring at Mewtwo.

"And Mewtwo?" asked Hikari.

"Well, we were..." said Maiko but Mewtwo decided to interrupt.

"She is my ex-girlfriend" said Mewtwo. The three girls stared at Mewtwo with shock.

"But, you said you could never love a human" said Hikari.

"So I lied, no big deal. Besides, what happened between me and Maiko is the past" said Mewtwo.

"Mewtwo, I suggest we tell them the whole story. You know clearly that we both can't deny what happened between us" said Maiko. Miki cringed in anger while Hikari and Harumi tried to calm her down.


"Ehh, fine. Just don't make up anything" said Mewtwo as he sipped his drink firmly.

"It all started when Mewtwo first came to Starmine City four months ago. I was a street punk and I was, as usual, looking for trouble." said Maiko.

"Yeah, I remembered that day clearly" said Mewtwo.

(Flashback)

"Hmmmm, this looks like a good spot to settle in for a while" said Mewtwo as he landed in a deserted alleyway. After weeks of searching for a new place to live, Mewtwo had been trying to conceil himself. The only way Mewtwo was able to do so was by coming out at night while wearing a cloak that an old beggar gave him.

"Huh, I wonder how long will I be able to hide myself. I heard Starmine City is the city for psychics alike but, how am I going to fit in with those other pokemon and humans?" Mewtwo thought to himself. Suddenly, he heard footsteps approaching so he hid behind the corner of a wall.

"I know somebody is in here. Better come out before I go full throtle on you" said the young girl. Mewtwo turned his head to see that it was a young lady who had long red-orange hair, brown eyes and was wearing punk clothing.

"I know you're here because I can sense your powers. You might be a pokemon but you need to come out now!" said the girl. He started to feel fear from the human as he saw her get closer and he was shocked to see that she was starting to form a shadow ball. So, he now knew that nobody was joking when they said that this was the city of psychic pokemon and humans. Feeling threatened, Mewtwo started to charge a shadow ball and he quickly through it towards her. the young girl dodged the attack and threw her ball at him, missing as well. She looked up to see Mewtwo landing in front of her.

"What are you? she asked. She seemed to be curious, friegtened and looking for a battle at the same time.

"I am a person whose name is not needed to know, especially by a human." said Mewtwo.

"Hmmmph. You certainly have a tounge there mister. Besides, I am tougher than you furball" said the girl.

"You quite have one yourself, human child" said Mewtwo.

"For your information, I have a name. It's Maiko Itsumoto" Maiko said, frustrated that Mewtwo tried to out smart her in the tough game.

"Ok, Maiko. You might think you are tough but let me tell you, I was once just like you" said Mewtwo.

"You still look like your a tough guy. You tried to kill with a shadow ball" said Maiko.

"I tried to harm others but I was also harming myself. Now, I am clean and I want to help others" said Mewtwo.

"Huh, you turned into a softy. My past isn't pretty either. My parents divorced and my mother doesn't give a damn about me. I am alone in this world." said Maiko.

"Not really, you are talking to me." said Mewtwo.

"Well, if I am to talk to you, I need to know your name at least" said Maiko.

"It's Mewtwo" said Mewtwo. Maiko approched him and gave him a hug.

"Thank you Mewtwo, you are the only person I know who would listen to me. You gave me an idea, I am giving up my life on the streets and I will become a better person" said Maiko.

"If you want, we can meet here tomorrow" said Mewtwo.

"Fine, better not be late" said Maiko as she ran off and waved back at him. Mewtwo had to admit that he felt good helping out this girl but there was another feeling that was starting to creep up on him. Maiko was beautiful, she had the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen, her wavy red-orange hair reflected under the moonlight and he managed to bring her innocense out of the shadows. He had to also admit that she wasn't that bad looking either. For the next 6 weeks, Maiko and Mewtwo met with each other every day. They laughed, cried and felt comfortable with each other. Maiko was also having the same feelings about Mewtwo. He was more than a pokemon to her, since he was half human, she felt more connected to his human side than ever. One day, both couldn't hide their felings any longer.

"Hey Mewtwo, have you ever felt like you love somebody but didn't have the guts to tell them how you feel?" asked Maiko.

"Yes, I feel that way right now" said Mewtwo.

"Mewtwo" said Maiko.

"Maiko" said Mewtwo.

"I love you!" both Mewtwo and Maiko literaly yelled out. Maiko turned her head and blushed, she felt embarrased that she actually said it.

"You love me?" she asked.

"With all of my heart. I just want us to be together forever" said Mewtwo as he held Maiko in his arms.

"Me too" said Maiko as she layed her head onto his shoulders. Mewtwo then lifted Maiko's head and the two became face to face, ending the agony with a passionate kiss. Maiko opened her eyes, for the first time, she felt jitters going down her body. She didn't feel so alone. Both parted and stared at each other lovingly. The next 3 months passed without any problems and Mewtwo had never felt any more happier. Being with Maiko was his wake up call that he can belong with anybody. All that seemed to change one fateful night. Mewtwo was about to enter the alleyway when he heard two people talking. He recognized one of them being Maiko's voice, the other was that of a young man. He hid behind a corner and observed what was happening. His eyes widned when he saw Maiko approaching the young man and kisses him, the same way he did months ago. Mewtwo knew that Maiko was cheating on him and probably ment that she never loved him. Mewtwo sank back into the corner wall and wept. Maiko and the young man came out of the corner at the wrong moment.

"Mewtwo, what's wrong?" she asked.

"What's wrong?! I saw you kissing this guy. How could you do something like that to me? I thought you loved me!" Mewtwo cried out.

"I do, look, this was a mistake. Let's just forget it happened" she said.

"No, the only thing you can forget is me because I am done. It's over Maiko" Mewtwo said as he flew off into the night. Maiko got on her knees and started to cry. Not only did she do the stupidest thing in her life, but she also lost the one she loves.

(End flashback)

"That is why I don't want to get back into a relationship Maiko. When somebody cheats and they are taken back, who knows if they will do the same thing again" said Mewtwo.

"Not true, I learned from my mistake!" Maiko yelled.

"Yeah but you screwed up" said Miki.

"You butt out of it Miki, besides what kind of a friend dates her friend's ex?" asked Maiko.

"First of all, we are just friends. Second of all, you guys are exs and finally, when I asked you about your boyfriend,you only mentioned that guy who was in the school's photography club" said Miki.

"Well, how am I going to explain to my best friend that I was dating a pokemon that acts human. Besides, if anyone here had issues, its you!" said Maiko.

"What do you mean?" asked Miki.

"You were always jealous of my beauty. You just gave yourself a makeover and then boys started to follow you. Just because you are a cheerleader, doesn't mean you are pretty" said Maiko.

"Are you sure you are not the one who is jealous of me?" asked Miki. There was a brief silence that filled the air.

"Hmm, you are so insulting, Mewtwo, I will try to talk with you later. I am leaving!" said Maiko, feeling insulted by Miki's words.

"Could you three wait here for a second. I need to talk with Maiko" said Mewtwo. As he left, Miki decided to follow him to see what was really going on. She was able to see them through the club's entrence hall.

"Maiko, look, I know you made a mistake but I am not sure if I want to refurnish our relationship" said Mewtwo as he got close to Maiko.

" I understand, you don't love me like before" said Maiko.

"Not really, I still love you but not as much as before. I still think of you" Mewtwo said as he and Maiko got closer. Miki just stood and gasped as she saw Mewtwo and Maiko engage in a kiss. Miki just felt her heart sank. Deep inside, she had a crush on him. Deep in Mewtwo's heart, he didn't want Maiko, he wanted Miki so why was he kissing her? Out of pity? Out of guilt? It was still unknown. As soon as they stopped kissing, Mewtwo left to go back inside, only to find Miki, stiff with tears in her eyes.

"What's wrong?" Mewtwo asked. As he tried to lay a hand on her, she shoved his hand away, catching the attention of the two girls. Miki then ran to the girl's room with tears flowing.

"Miki! What's wrong?! Miki!" yelled the girls as they ran after her. When they opened the door, they saw Miki crying over the sink with Tokoya trying to cheer her up.

"What happened?" asked Hikari.

"Miki caught Mewtwo kissing Maiko" said Tokoya.

"What?!" yelled Hikari and Harumi.

"I saw them. He said that he doesn't love her yet he kissed her. But... I am not going to let it bother me as much. I mean, it may just be a goodbye kiss" said Miki as she calmed down. Hikari and Harumi looked at each other on how Miki calmed down so quickly. As they exited the bathroom, they were approached by Mewtwo.

"Miki, I.." Mewtwo said but Miki took her index finger and covered his mouth with it.

"Look, let's forget about it. Hey, Harumi told me that the club owner asked if we could perform something. Why don't we perform?" asked Miki.

"I don't see why not. Are you sure you're ok?" asked Mewtwo as they head to tell the owner of their decision.

"Yup, I'm fine" said Miki. 5 minutes later, the team turned into the Moonlight Shadows and were ready to perform.

The crowd cheered as they ended their song. Mewtwo had to admit that maybe he felt sorry for Maiko and that was the reason as to why he kissed her but still, he was questioning himself. What was the real reason he kissed Maiko? Mewtwo only knew one thing to be true. He still had love for Maiko but at the same time,he wanted to have something with Miki without hurting the other. This was going to be one situation that Mewtwo knew will have only one girl as the true love for him.
